Once registered with the practice you may
express a preference to be seen by a certain doctor. This includes
being seen by different doctors for different conditions. We will
always try our best to help, but our ability to meet preferences is
dependent upon the availability of doctors at any given time.
You are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation,
examination or procedure where you feel one is required.
If you are a registered patient who is aged between 16 and 74
(inclusive), and have not attended a clinic or consultation with the
practice within the last three years, you have a right to a
consultation in which the health professional will conduct whatever
examinations appear to be appropriate.
Similarly, if you are a registered patient who is over 75 years of
age, and have not attended either a clinic or a consultation for one
year, you have a right to a consultation in which the health
professional will conduct whatever examinations appear to be
appropriate, and will conduct the consultation at your home if it
appears necessary for medical reasons.
Patients are expected to keep their appointments. If for any reason
you can’t keep an appointment, please let the medical centre know as
soon as possible so that the time can be given to someone else.
The medical centre is a no smoking area, and no alcohol is allowed
on the premises. The practice reserves the right to choose not to
see patients that arrive at the surgery under the influence of
alcohol or drugs.
The practice will require any patient who is violent and/or abusive
to leave the premises. In serious cases registration with the
practice may be cancelled.
